Attendees: Chairman Don, Mary, Ernie, Scoutmaster Paul, Vince, Peg, Jane, David, and Bob.
Scoutmaster’s April Report:
The Court of Honor was held April 30th and was a big success, with good food, good turnout, 2 skits and SPL Sam becoming MC to hand out a large number of badges and rank advancements.
A benefit of the COH was the cleaning effort that took place the weekend before, transforming the dingy, cluttered hut into a clean, spacious hut (with a cluttered back room). Progress!
Troop 19 sent a small group to the Camporee in April with big results. We won one of only 3 first place ribbons and reclaimed the Gil Talmadge award for innovation with a Japanese style camping sink.
Matt also won the competition to design the Camporee patch, which was presented to all 200 participants. It is displayed on our web site under news.
Philmont Reminder:
Philmont bound scouts need to schedule medicals, bringing the Philmont form to the appointment since Philmont accepts no other forms. Paul has the forms.
Service Projects:
Dinner for the poor at St. Mary Magdalen Parish. Setup 1-3 PM first Sunday in the month.
Eagle’s Nest
Alex M. passed his Eagle board of review in April in 40 minutes. The sign of a job well done. Congratulations Alex!
